King’s Day Explained King’s Day, or “Koningsdag” in Dutch, is a vibrant national holiday in the Netherlands, celebrated on April 27th. It honors the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. The day is filled with street markets, concerts, and festivities across the country. Everyone dresses in orange, symbolizing the royal House of Orange-Nassau, creating a sea of orange everywhere you look! It’s a day of joy and community spirit as the entire nation celebrates together.
